CASE: Helsinki-Vantaa

The solution for the short-term parking in front of the domestic and foreign terminals in Helsinki-Vantaa airport is Hectronic parking ticket machines. At first, four machines were installed. Later, more were added, to make up the current number of seven.

The maximum parking time is one hour, which means that the machines are in constant use. The customer hoped for credit card payment, a reliable way to collect the fares, and remote management of the machines.

Technical solutions in Helsinki-Vantaa:

  • Connected to the LAN network with a LAN connection
  • Use of PA-Manager and statistics
  • Double machines on the busiest area to avoid crowding
  • Also a machine that accepts notes has been used as a temporary solution. This is connected via GSM (GPRS), meaning that LAN and GSM can be used side by side.
