Induction loop / Photocell

No gate crashing on the car

The induction loops used for example in the control of traffic lights can also be used for parking and access control systems. The induction loop is installed in the lane, and electrical current is fed to its coil. When a car enters the influence of the loop, the coil frequency is changed. This change enables the control of the gate. In practice, the loop is installed beneath the gate, to ensure that the gate stays open when the car is on the loop. When the car leaves the area of influence of the loop, the gate is closed.

Gate control can also use photocell technology. The photocell is based on sending and receiving an infrared ray. The gate control system reacts to an obstacle crossing the infrared ray.

Ultrasound can also be utilised in similar technology.
